Getting Started

Eatmark works with browsers on PC running Windows, Mac, Linux. For mobile users with GPS, it also works with the iPad, iPhone, Android smartphone browsers.

You obtain the reference position by the following 3 methods

  1. GPS
  2. entering the address
  3. clicking on the reference marker when the map is opened. First move the reference marker to the desired location.

If GPS is available on the platform, you must give permission to use GPS. The accuracy of the GPS depends on how the GPS information is obtained on the different platforms. In instances where GPS hardware is used, a line of sight is required to the GPS satellites. In such cases you will have to be in the open to obtain a GPS coordinates.

There are 3 types of eatmarks

  1. Public
  2. Friends
  3. Mine

All eatmarks shown are within 5km to the reference position. Click on the eatmark to show the map of the eatmark.

You need a facebook account to log in. You need to allow for permission to write to your wall the first time you log in. When you log in with facebook, you will be able to see any friend's eatmarks as well.

The following buttons are used to add and edit eatmarks and its' properties

  1. Add eatmark
  2. Edit eatmark
  3. Like eatmark
  4. Unlike eatmark
  5. Comment eatmark
  6. Email eatmark

When your friend comments or like an eatmark that is public or of a friend of friend, that eatmark will appear as a friend eatmark.

If you own an eating place, add an eatmark and make it public. If you have many locations, email for information on how to do a mass insert easily.
